The Southern Initiative (TSI): TSI is a place-based initiative that stimulates, enables and champions social and community innovation across the Local Board areas of Papakura, Manurewa, Ōtara-Papatoetoe, and Māngere-Ōtāhuhu. From Pukekohe to Māngere, TSI is working with and alongside community leaders (and their colleagues as well as staff from other parts of council, government agencies, funders, business owners and others) to support community-led aspirations.

As requested, we have analysed the elemental composition of airborne particulate matter samples collected onto filters at the Queen Street central Auckland air quality monitoring site. In addition, we have also analysed the composition of an airborne particulate matter sample collected by Dr Joel Rindelaub (Research Fellow at the School of Chemical Sciences, University of Auckland), adjacent to the Sky City complex overnight on 22–23 October 2019. We present a description of the samples and sampling sites, the analytical methodology and results, along with a brief contextual review in terms of other combustion sources and the contaminants produced therein.

This report updates the results of the State of the Environment intertidal marine ecology monitoring programme for the Manukau Harbour between October 1987 and February 2018. The monitoring focuses on intertidal animals in mud and sand flats which form an important link between sediment and water column quality and processes, are important prey items for birds and fish, are relatively stationary and therefore representative of local conditions, and are widely used internationally for monitoring impacts on and health of ecosystems. A report from the Working Group undertaking the review of Upper North Island Supply Chain Strategy, UNISCS. August 2019 The Upper North Island Supply Chain Strategy Working Group was asked by Cabinet to undertake a comprehensive review of New Zealand’s freight and logistics sector for the Upper North Island, including ports. This review will guide the development and delivery of a strategy for the Upper North Island to ensure the supply chain is fit for purpose in the long-term.
