Statistics about Auckland

A range of organisations collect statistics about the state of Auckland's economy, community, and environment.  There is no single list of all the statistics that are collected at the regional level.  The best way to find them is to start with the Knowledge Auckland data and mapping catalogue. If you don’t find what you are after, try the ‘Statisphere’ website: A comprehensive list of New Zealand statistics, indexed by subject, with links to data files.

Many of the statistics produced by Statistics New Zealand are affected by the changes in Auckland geography that came into effect on 1 November 2010. Because of the variety of collections they undertake, and differing release schedules, changeover to the new geography will not happen in a uniform way. Statistics New Zealand will advise users of data that is available on the new Auckland geography on their new Auckland Council webpage.
